The Photography Workshop - 2023 Year In Review

As 2023 comes to a close, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the amazing individuals who have been part of The Photography Workshop. This year has been truly extraordinary, with hundreds of enthusiastic students participating in our diverse range of over 60 classes. Together, we've honed our skills, fostered creativity, and built lasting friendships.

A special shoutout to the adventurous souls who joined me on our photographic journeys to the picturesque landscapes of Maine, the stunning vistas of Utah, and the charming scenes of Vermont. These travel adventures have been unforgettable, enriching our lives with beauty and camaraderie.

Each of you has played a pivotal role in making this year memorable, and for that, I am incredibly thankful. Looking ahead, I am excited to bring even more innovative classes and thrilling adventures in the coming year.

New Photography Learning Center and Studio

New Photography Learning Center and Studio

We are excited to announce our new Learning Center and Studio opening October 2021 at 200 E. Rosedale Avenue in West Chester, PA. right off US 202 at the South Matlack exit.

This brand-new state-of-the-art facility will provide us the opportunity to offer you all the great photography classes and workshops you have come to know us by, but also the ability to offer many new and exciting classes year-round. Our new location will feature incredible natural light, high ceilings, spacious classroom and studio space, a kitchenette, and offices.

We invite you to join us for our Grand Opening on Friday, October 15,  2021 from 7-9PM.
Come check out our new space, socialize with other likeminded people, eat, drink, door prizes, and a chance to win free classes.

Our Fantastic Fountains workshop is now a BENEFIT workshop!

Our Fantastic Fountains at Longwood Gardens photography workshop next Thursday (September 14th from 6:30-9:30) is now a benefit class. All monies raised by The Photography Workshop for this class will be donated and matched, dollar for dollar, to support the animal relief efforts from hurricane IRMA that is expected to devastate much of Florida over the next few days. As many of you know, I am a dog lover. I have five wonderful dogs in my home now (four Labradors and one Hound mix) and they are VERY much a part of my family. Animal shelters throughout Florida will be overwhelmed with an influx of lost, abandoned and injured pets. In the last 48-hours there have been many reports of pets being let out of cars and abandoned along evacuation routes. Many others are simply being left at their homes to defend for themselves. Many pets will simply no longer have a home to go home to after IRMA releases its furry and many will never be reunited with their families. If you wish to join us for this special class, capture some amazing images of the fantastic fountains and help support the relief effort, please register online the Chester County Night School http://chestercountynightschool.org/ The fee for this class is only $47.00 (admissions to Longwood Gardens not included if class fee). Therefore, every person that registers for this class means a $94.00 donation towards the relief effort. (Full disclosure: We are not a 503(c) tax exempt organization, just someone trying to help others in need, therefore we can’t provide you with a tax receipt.)

In this 8-week course we will show you how to process your digital photographs so they look amazing! Adobe Lightroom software is used by almost every professional photographer and we will teach you the essentials of using it to organize and edit your images like the professional do. We will be doing real world demonstrations with students photographs and teach you how to develop your ho hum images in to a WOW images that are worthy of awards. You won’t believe how much better your images will look after this class!

Did you get a new DSLR camera for the Holidays or have one sitting on the shelf collecting dust because all the buttons and dials intimidate you?  Then join us for this FUN & INTERACTIVE introduction to DSLR camera course!  You will learn what all those buttons and dials do and when to use them and teach you what compositional elements make a great photograph.  Many of our students have won photography awards after taking this class!

Just added - WOW! - How did you get that shot? - The Travel Series→

We've added 5 workshops where we will be shooting on location at various venues picked specifically for their photographic value. Workshop leaders will provide instruction and guidance throughout each workshop. Every student will have ample opportunity for one-on-one help from the leaders. Check them out here.

Just added - Week #9 - "My Great Summer Adventures!" - FULL DAY SESSIONS

Due to overwhelming requests, we have added week #9 to our calendar that will be FULL DAY sessions from 8:00am - 4:00pm (M-T-W-F) and 8:00am-6:00pm (Th).

This camp is named "My Great Summer Adventures!" where we will be traveling to various area attractions throughout the week providing incredible opportunities for teens to capture a variety of images in many different areas of photography. This one is sure to sell out fast, so sign up early to reserve your spot.
